Announced, London, 24th August 2010 - Immersion 2012 - Global Dance Event

alan macmillan orr, author of the natural mind - waking up, following on from his "remix" of the original work into three books released under "authors" created from an anagram of alan's name, and photographed in various disguises to challenge perception, has announced his intention to remix the book into 200 short film clips and dance tracks to differently express the concepts in each topic. That means 200 topics from anger to war rexpressed sonically, and visually without recourse to the printed word.

The resulting work will be introduced as an immersion performance where the "reader" engages with the work by becoming part of it, through the medium of a dance music event. The location of the event has not been decided but it will take place on the 21st December 2012 and will be webcast globally into participating venues.

As with all alan's projects immersion 2012 will evolve in collaboration with others...

Announced, London, 15th June 2010 - Barefoot Walk Commencing 5th july 2010

alan macmillan orr, author of the natural mind - waking up will be walking barefoot from the most northerly point of scotland, john o'groats, to the most southerly point in england, lands end, in an effort to reconnect with the land we so casually trample over, all the while bearing witness to the suffering caused by us and to us, whilst engaging people across the backbone of the country on individual topics from the book, to stimulate individual thinking, and raise our awareness. Although primarily an indivdual walk, alan will also be raising funds for the natural mind project,amnesty UK,Greeneace UK,WSPA UK, and MIND UK as well as documenting the experience. www.barefootchallenge.org

A new series, "Beyond Appearances, has been launched to challenge peoples perceptions in the form of three paperback books all under 300 pages, priced from £9.95 to £12.95 containing over thirty relevant topics each from the natural mind - waking up.

It has been confirmed that the solar cooking project has been approved and will commence this summer. The philosophy behind this project is simple. Why use a gas, charcoal, or electric cooker for everything when you can make beautiful food for free, courtesty of that magnificent ball of fire in the sky - the sun. Our project aims are threefold, (a) to launch a schools science project in the west to build solar cookers, and try to design more efficient cookers, whilst involving the parents, (b) to partner with other solar cooking organisations to raise money to build kits and distribute them to people in need, and (c) to develop a worldwide Solar cooking Day.
